State and Local Defense Organizations (SLDOs)

Existing parallel but clearly separate from DRI is a network of nearly 65 independent state and locally-based defense lawyer organizations (SLDOs). Most states, many large metropolitan areas and Canada have their own SLDO. They range in membership size from a few hundred to several thousand. Each has a traditional organizational structure with an elected President, a Board of Directors and an Executive Director. Like DRI , the SLDO’s fundamental purpose is to provide information and services that will help their state’s defense lawyers practice more effectively.

The Association of Defense Trial Attorneys (ADTA)

The Association of Defense Trial Counsel has two main objectives: to provide an opportunity for the proven successful defense trial attorneys to associate with similarly qualified trial attorneys for professional, social and business purposes, and to identify the successful defense trial attorney for those persons in search of such an attorney. A member of the ADTA is a proven and recognized successful professional-- possessing the highest skill level of a defense trial attorney in civil cases. It members are proud of their reputations and their success and they carefully select those they invite to be a member of the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys.

The Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel ( FDCC )

Composed of leaders in the legal community, FDCC members have been judged by their peers to have achieved professional distinction and are committed to promoting knowledge, fellowship, professionalism and the course of justice. FDCC members are experienced attorneys in private practice as well as general counsel and insurance claims executives from throughout the world. They represent the interests of those who need a defense in civil lawsuits.
