About the Committee

The American Law Institute ("ALI") is working on Chapters for the Restatement of the Law of Liability Insurance which will address significant coverage issues. Preliminary drafts are prepared by the ALI "Reporters" and then submitted to a group of "Advisers" for suggestions and revisions. This Task Force has been set up to vet issues addressed in the Reporter drafts, to summarize case law from across the country, and to develop talking points and practical arguments in an effort to ensure that the Chapters reflect the state of existing law and not what select individuals believe the law should be.
