The Honorable Hildy Bowbeer

The Honorable Hildy Bowbeer was appointed a Magistrate Judge for the District of Minnesota in June 2014. Prior to her appointment, she managed IP litigation at 3M Company in the U.S. and internationally. Judge Bowbeer received her J.D. from the University of Michigan. In 1985, she became one of the seven founding partners of Bowman and Brooke, where she had a national practice in product liability litigation before joining 3M. She is a judicial advisor to the Sedona Conference. She also serves on the Federal Practice Committee for the District of Minnesota and co-authored its Guide for Practitioners on electronic discovery. Judge Bowbeer speaks frequently on litigation management, electronic discovery, and ADR.

The Honorable Jennifer L. Frisch In 2013, Governor Mark Dayton appointed Jennifer Frisch to serve as a district court judge in Ramsey County, Minnesota's Second Judicial District. In 2018, Judge Frisch was elected to serve as the Assistant Chief Judge in the Second Judicial District. Prior to her appointment to the bench, Judge Frisch served as Senior Associate General Counsel for the University of Minnesota for 11 years, where she represented the University in state and federal courts in all litigated matters. Before joining the University's Office of the General Counsel, Judge Frisch practiced commercial litigation at Kelly & Berens in Minneapolis. Judge Frisch received her B.A., magna cum laude, from Macalester College and her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School.

A graduate of the University of Toronto Law School, Justice Hughes spent 37 years in private practice as a partner at the firm of Sim, Hughes, Ashton, McKay and McBurney before he was appointed to the Court Martial Appeal Court of Canada. Justice Hughes served on the Court Martial Appeal Court from 2006 to 2016 when he was appointed to the Federal Court of Canada. Justice Hughes currently practices as a neutral with JAMS ADR.

In her various roles, Ms. Nowak has worked on various patent, trademark, domain name, and trade secret litigation matters; negotiated numerous global IP agreements; and has filed and/or prosecuted over a hundred patent applications Ms. Nowak began her legal career as an IP attorney with Stoel Rives LLP in Portland, Oregon. Prior to law school, Ms. Nowak performed chemical research for the United States Department of Agriculture. Ms. Nowak has a JD from the University of Oregon law school and a BA (Chemistry) from Franklin and Marshall College.

After graduating from law school, Alan Page worked as an attorney for a law firm in Minneapolis, then served seven years as an attorney in the office of the Minnesota Attorney General.

She received her BS in aerospace engineering from Iowa State University and her MS in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois.
