Diversity for Success

Overview

Accepting differences and letting go of the old prejudices is the key to diversity in the legal profession. Diversity recognizes, respects and values every aspect of our individuality, and we benefit from the collective power it generates. As we embark upon a new chapter as a nation, so too must we cross into a new era in the legal profession. Don’t miss this innovative seminar, which is designed to improve the success of your law practice. Learn how women and minority attorneys are successfully charting their own course and achieving economic equality by obtaining business from insurance companies and corporations. Find out how you can implement successful pipeline and retention strategies, obtain buy-in, and address the racial paradox and much, much more. The fourth annual Diversity for Success Seminar is designed specifically to provide large and small law practices, solo practitioners and corporate law departments with the necessary tools to successfully navigate these challenges.

Registration

REGISTRATION: The registration fee is $595. The registration fee includes CD-ROM course materials, continental breakfasts, luncheon on Thursday, refreshment breaks and networking receptions. If you wish to have your name appear on the registration list distributed at the conference and receive the CD-ROM course materials in advance, DRI must receive your registration by May 22, 2009 (please allow 10 days for processing mail registrations). Registrations received after May 22, 2009, will be processed on-site.

DIVERSITY EXPO: Friday’s Diversity Expo will provide a unique opportunity for selected minority and women attorneys and their law firms to interview with corporations and insurance companies committed to diversifying their national outside counsel panels. Interviews are limited to three attorneys per law firm and are pre-selected by participating corporations. Attendees must submit the Diversity Expo Law Firm Interview Application no later than May 8 to be eligible to participate. To attend the Diversity Expo, you must register for the seminar and fill out the interview application.

HOTEL ACCOMODATIONS: A limited number of discounted hotel rooms have been made available at the Swissotel, 323 E. Wacker Drive, Chicago, Illinois 60601. For reservations, contact the hotel directly at 312.565.0565. Please mention DRI’s Diversity for Success Seminar to take advantage of the group rate of $279 Single/$299 Double. The hotel block is limited and rooms and rates are available on a first-come, firstserved basis. You must make reservations by May 11, 2008, to be eligible for the group rate. Requests for reservations made after May 11 are subject to room and rate availability.

If you are a first time user use dri as company, your first initial and last name as Member ID and leave password blank the first time you login to enter a password. As always, to obtain the lowest available fares, early booking is recommended.

Special Discounts

No special discounts are provided for the Diversity for Success or Young Lawyers Seminars, Fidelity and Surety Roundtable, Defending Drug and Medical Device Litigation Young Lawyer Primer, the DRI Annual Meeting, or any non-CLE DRI meeting. For all other seminars, the first and second registrations from the same firm or company are subject to the fees outlined above. The registration fee for additional registrants from the same firm or company is $50 off the member rate, regardless of membership status. All registrations must be received at the same time to receive the discount.

Refund Policy

Refund Policy: The registration fee is fully refundable for cancellations received on or before May 22, 2009. Cancellations received after May 22 and on or before May 29, will receive a refund, less a $50 processing fee. Cancellations made after May 29 will not receive a refund, but the course materials on CD-ROM and a $100 certificate good for any DRI seminar within the next 12 months will be issued. All cancellations and requests for refunds must be made in writing. Fax to DRI’s Accounting Department at 312.795.0747. All refunds will be mailed within four weeks after the date of the seminar. Substitutions may be made at any time without charge and must be submitted in writing.
