Young Lawyers

Overview

DRI’s annual Young Lawyers Seminar is designed to develop the critical skills that defense lawyers and in-house counsel need to defend their corporate clients successfully. This program boasts distinguished faculty from around the country, including in-house lawyers from some of the most recognized companies in America, experienced and successful trial lawyers, a state bar investigator and some of the best speakers from DRI’s Young Lawyers Committee. In addition, there is a corporate counsel breakout session, open only to in-house counsel, which will provide corporate attendees with unique presentations designed specifically for them. Attendees also will have an opportunity for a truly rewarding experience through participation in a special community service project on Wednesday. Please join DRI’s Young Lawyers Committee in Miami to hone your trial skills and benefit from numerous networking opportunities.

Registration

The registration fee is $595. The registration fee includes CD-ROM course materials, continental breakfasts, refreshment breaks and networking receptions. If you wish to have your name appear on the registration list distributed at the conference and receive the CD-ROM course materials in advance, DRI must receive your registration by May 28 2010 (please allow ten days for processing mail registrations). Registrations received after May 28, 2010 will be processed on-site.

Young Lawyers Committee Community Service Project: DRI Young Lawyers Committee continues its tradition of community service by spending an afternoon with Community Partnership for Homeless. CPH and its on-site partner agencies provide individual case management, health and dental care, counseling, daycare, life-skills training and much more in their comprehensive approach to assisting the homeless. Attendees will help prepare the center's evening meal, spend time with children living at the center and help maintain the facility's buildings and grounds. Participation is open to all seminar attendees and their families (age limits may apply). Please check the Community Service Project on the registration from in the Brochure or the online registration form. Transportation and refreshments will be provided. Please join us in this opportunity to give back to the Miami-Dade County community while developing and strengthening relationships with your fellow young lawyers.

A limited number of discounted hotel rooms have been made available at the Eden Roc Renaissance® Miami Beach , 4525 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, Florida 33140.. For reservations, contact the hotel directly at 305.531.0000. Please mention DRI's Young Lawyers Seminar to take advantage of the group rate of $239 single/double. The hotel block is limited and rooms and rates are available on a first-come, first-served basis. You must make reservations by May 17, 2010, to be eligible for the group rate. Requests for reservations made after May 17 are subject to room and rate availability.

Travel Discounts

DRI offers discounted meeting fares on various major air carriers for DRI seminar attendees. To receive these discounts, please contact Hobson Travel Ltd., DRI’s official travel provider at 800.538.7464 or you can book your travel on online at RESX.com. If you are a first time user use dri as company, your first initial and last name as Member ID and leave password blank the first time you login to enter a password. As always, to obtain the lowest available fares, early booking is recommended.

Special Discounts

No special discounts are provided for the Diversity for Success or Young Lawyers Seminars, Fidelity and Surety Roundtable, Defending Drug and Medical Device Litigation Young Lawyer Primer, the DRI Annual Meeting, or any non-CLE DRI meeting. For all other seminars, the first and second registrations from the same firm or company are subject to the fees outlined above. The registration fee for additional registrants from the same firm or company is $50 off the member rate, regardless of membership status. All registrations must be received at the same time to receive the discount.

Refund Policy

Refund Policy: The registration fee is fully refundable for cancellations received on or before May 28, 2010. Cancellations received after May 28 and on or before June 4, 2010, will receive a refund, less a $50 processing fee. Cancellations made after June 4 will not receive a refund, but the course materials on CD-ROM and a $100 certificate good for any DRI seminar within the next 12 months will be issued. All cancellations and requests for refunds must be made in writing. Fax to DRI’s Accounting Department at 312.795.0747. All refunds will be mailed within four weeks after the date of the conference. Substitutions may be made at any time without charge and must be submitted in writing.
