Adam Hofmann
Hanson Bridgett LLP

Adam Hofmann is an Appellate Specialist, certified by the California Board of Legal Specialization, and serves as the Co-Chair of Hanson Bridgett's appellate practice group. He represents both public and private clients in civil writs, appeals, and mandate proceedings. He has briefed and argued cases in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and every District Court of Appeal in California and has filed merits briefs in two U.S. Supreme Court cases.


Matthew Nelson

Matthew Nelson chairs Warner Norcross + Judd's Appellate Practice Group. Matt's appellate experience includes submitting amicus curiae briefs in the state and federal courts including briefs on behalf of the State of Michigan, the Defense Research Institute, the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities, the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel, and the Michigan Health & Hospital Association. Matt routinely works with trial litigators on dispositive motions, motions in limine, and preparing appellate strategy while a case is still in the trial court.

Sarah Elizabeth Spencer is a shareholder attorney at Christensen & Jensen, P.C., in Salt Lake City, Utah. She practices law in Utah and Colorado. Sarah handles product liability cases, complex commercial and business tort cases, and appeals. Sarah joined DRI in 2008 and has been an active member since then. She started with DRI in the Young Lawyers Committee and later became involved in the Appellate Advocacy Committee. Sarah chaired the 2019 Appellate Advocacy Committee seminar in Chicago. Sarah is currently the vice-chair of the Appellate Advocacy Committee and the webinar co-chair for the Commercial Litigation Committee.
