Class Action and Multidistrict Litigation Task Force

Chess pieces in a justice scale

The Class Action and Multidistrict Litigation Task Force (CAML) monitors and evaluates issues that may affect litigation involving multiple claimants, including federal and significant state class action law, as well as federal multidistrict litigation and significant state equivalents, often in coordination with other groups within the Center, DRI substantive law committees, and affiliated state and local defense organizations. CAML may develop programming or articles concerning significant class action or multidistrict litigation developments. As appropriate, CAML will draft and comment on proposed changes to rules impacting such litigation, and, through the Legislation and Rules Committee, will recommend action on those to the Center Management Council. CAML will also serve as a resource for DRI’s substantive law committees and, upon request, to other Center groups.
