About the Committee
The Issues and Advocacy Committee identifies issues of substantive law, judicial process, and judicial reform that are important to DRI's membership and to which it can add a unique voice. For issues identified, the Center can propose to the Executive Committee that the committee to engage in study, deliberation, and published research.
It can then recommend an official DRI position or alternatively, engagement in efforts to educate (not persuade) the profession and the public through a balanced presentation of all sides of the issue. Its public education program engages critical audiences either directly or through a rigorous media relations program with the mainstream and trade media.
