Remembering 9/11

DRI Community,

Today is the 21st anniversary of the September 11th (Patriots Day) terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Flight 93 that crashed near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. The attacks killed nearly 3,000 people, of which more than 400 were police officers, firefighters and first responders. It is surely a day that is forever burned into our hearts and minds. The attack was intended to break our spirits and strike fear into our hearts. In the end we as Americans were never more united and our resolve never stronger.

As the CEO of DRI, I have had the opportunity to see DRI members supporting each other both professionally and personally. DRI has always been about community, and I am humbled by how often DRI members put the needs of others before their own.

As we reflect on the events of September 11, 2001, I hope DRI members not only proclaim to “never forget,” but also remember how much we can do when we are united as a community.
