Chicago - January 7, 2021 – DRI, Lawyers Representing Business, CEO Dean Martinez released the following statement in response to large groups of rioters who violently stormed the U.S. Capitol building as Members of Congress met to count the electoral votes:
"DRI condemns the violent protestors who have stormed the U.S. Capitol yesterday, attacking police officers, first responders and our duly elected officials because they refuse to accept the fair and free elections that took place last November. This is not the vision of America that DRI members believe in and work to defend through the practice of law. Over the last few months, the legal profession has played a critical role in ensuring our democratic process stands strong. DRI and its community is committed to support the rule of law and democracy within the United States of America."
