DRI, the leading organization of civil defense attorneys and in-house counsel, today announced the launch of its new tagline: Association of Lawyers Defending Business. The updated message underscores DRI’s steadfast commitment
to advancing the interests of lawyers who defend businesses, individuals, and the principles of the justice system.
“For more than 60 years, DRI has been the professional home for attorneys who represent business interests in civil litigation,” said R. Jeffrey Lowe, Acting President of DRI. “Our new tagline makes that purpose unmistakably
clear. It reflects who we are, who we serve, and the vital role our members play in ensuring a fair and balanced legal system.”
The refreshed tagline is part of a broader brand evolution that highlights DRI’s leadership in professional development, advocacy, and community for defense practitioners. It reinforces the organization’s ongoing efforts to:
- Support lawyers defending business interests through premier educational programs, resources, and networking opportunities.
- Advocate for fairness and balance in the civil justice system through the Center for Law and Public Policy.
- Foster a thriving professional community across 30 substantive law committees that span every major area of civil defense practice.

The new tagline will appear across all DRI communications, events, and publications beginning this week, with an unveiling coinciding with DRI’s 2025 Annual Meeting in Chicago, where the association will continue to build on its
legacy of helping members form relationships that strengthen both business and the practice of law.
