We are pleased to announce the Joint APCIA/DRI Repository of Third-Party Litigation Funding and Third-Party Medical Financing materials is now open for member access!
Third-Party Litigation Funding (TPLF) continues to drive nuclear verdicts, increase claims costs, and reshape the legal and insurance landscape as funders attempt to maximize returns on their investments. Recent reports also highlight additional concerns related to fraud, funders controlling litigation, funders investing in plaintiff firms, and TPLF’s impact on affordability issues. However, the overall impact of TPLF on the legal system remains largely opaque, as funding transactions and agreements are rarely disclosed.
This new repository from the American Property Casualty Insurance Association and DRI, the Association of Lawyers Defending Business, includes an array of TPLF and Third-Party Medical Financing (TPMF) documents designed to empower you to address these growing concerns. This includes discovery, related motions such as motions to compel, agreements, orders, state and federal legislative trackers, practical claims and litigation guidance documents, testimony, and other related resources. There will also be a messaging/discussion forum available for you to connect with your community and share real-time questions and updates.
We hope this repository will not only be useful for you in your work but that it also helps close the TPLF/TPMF data gap as we accrue additional agreements, data and information.
